The site, 400-plus acres of land atop Marsh Mountain, is a former logging area, now covered by lush deciduous forest. The Lodestone course meanders through the forest and around mountainous streams, incorporating natural elements such as mossy rock outcroppings, natural water features and breathtaking views of Deep Creek Lake. A residential community as well the Irwin Estates is planned, with custom home sites.
About Hale Irwin:
Hale Irwin has a total of 20 victories on the PGA Tour from 1971 to 1994, winning the 1974, 1979, and 1990 U.S. Opens, and playing on five Ryder Cups teams. Irwin was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1992. Playing on the over-50 Champions Tour since 1995, he has enjoyed even greater success, with 45 Champions Tour titles. He was the winner of the U.S. Senior Open in 1998 and 2000.
